I don't remember Nero being this annoying when I read this for the first time years ago but man, he is bad. Thank god for the addition of the Triplets because they saved the story this time around. I've been waiting for the Baudelaires to get some allies and they get some here. I like their friendship and it kind of sucks how shortlived it is, but this isn't the last we see of them so it's not the end of the world.

I like this book's potential in terms of what the story could bring next. I like how they are finally introducing the idea of V.F.D. and how that storyline continues from here.

As for this book, it's okay, It's probably the best one after some duds. The characters are all so unlikeable and weird, which is kind of the whole gimmick of the series, but it is what it is.
