This novel tells a simple story in a straightforward way, but it somehow still packs real emotional depth. I loved it!

Fun story but the character building wasn't as deep as I had hoped. Nice escape to Alaska

This was the right combination of travel and grief and love!

Ok so I feel like this definitely my most anticipated read of the year because I remember asking the employee at Barnes & Noble about it and her going "that book comes out next year" lol.

i LOOOOOVED it it ripped my heart out and put it back together and it was so poetic and the language and writing style were incredible. i think all the characters were well fleshed out and served their purposes super well. and i also liked how realistic everything was, it wasn't blown out of proportion or made dramatic. I ripped through it in a day (let's hope i can keep this streak up lol).

I would've given it 5 stars but I think indie artists who act like they're better than everyone/people who like pop music are annoying and the derogatory Taylor Swift reference was NOT it for me. I say that as someone who likes both genres. It's just so old to shit on what people like. Also because there was a weird comment about the two Black characters feeling weird about always being around white people. I mean the author is white so it felt odd to me.

But, I did really love how the book ended, and almost everything else about it. Definitely one of my favorite reads of the year.
