Stunning. A small and intimate story asking some of the biggest questions of our time. Brutally and beautifully human, forces you to confront that there is no perfect way to live in these trying times. Maybe madness is the most sane reaction to the world today.

I really liked the idea of the book but hated the way it was written. Robin clearly had some issues and for a scientist like his father, I expected more from him. I was just annoyed throughout the whole book because of their relationship. I did enjoy hearing about the animals because it made me think differently. That’s about all I liked though. I gave three stars because the idea was great, just not written well.

This is one of those books where I didn't know if I was enjoying reading it all the time, and yet I know that this is also a book that will stay on my mind for a bit.
I also like that it talks about veganism and environmental and animal rights issues - wasn't expecting that side of it and it was very well done.
It is indeed a sad, at times stressful, book to read but I would recommend giving it a go.
