Wow. This story was heartbreakingly moving. Vincent and William were thrust together by chance, but their bond built hope, wisdom, and future.

Three young men coming-of-age in different times. Viet Nam in detail. This was a hard read, but I appreciated the way it was told. Favorite quote: “I believe no situation is hopeless unless we make it so”.
Robert Dugoni is such a gifted storyteller! By weaving 3 different stories into one, the reader is really able to understand how devastating the effects of fighting in Vietnam was for the young men sent there. I will definitely recommend this book to my teenage readers......I think the 3 storylines will have a huge impact.
