It felt unfinished in many ways but also the characters felt unlike themselves, something I found half way through the last book as well. For me it was the lack on consent and some not nice things said and done by st Vincent. I was expecting more pining, more inner work from him.

Pretty classic concentrated shot of heterosexual regency/Victorian romance, with the always delightful combo of a rakish nobleman and a wallflower of a woman, and a nice dose of historical and logistical details. A strong plot keeps things moving, and the flirting scenes are strong hits. A bit too insta-love for my tastes, but it's always fun to read a rake realizing he has feelings. Though the characters aren't deeply compelling, I was certainly engaged and ended up invested in seeing them succeed!

I love me a historical romance... 😝 there were a few things I didn't like that he said to her (calling her a bitch) but lowkey redeemed himself bc she called him a dog before LMFAOO. he's snarky and i like the fmc bc she stood her ground and played him around even though she was shy!!
