My biggest complaint about this sequential art adaptation of A Game of Thrones is the number of typos and other editing oversights. Considering the spotlight this series has on it right now, some of the mistakes and revelations in the bonus behind-the-scenes material struck me as tasteless and surprisingly low-budget. For example, the description of the auditioning process for the artist says more about the need to find an artist who would work nonstop for lower pay than it did about the art actually being better than the others who wanted the job.

Overall, though, I was thoroughly satisfied with this graphic novel, having just finished the source material days before starting it, and am eager for the subsequent volumes to be released.

Whilst I enjoyed this read and thought the artwork was incredible, I don’t think this series is really one for me. I might continue because I’ve always had this feeling that I should read the books, but am simultaneously terrified of them - so the graphic novel seems like the perfect middle-ground! Like I said, the artwork was incredible and detailed, but I don’t think the graphic novel style carried the story well, unless you spend a good amount of time analysing each panel to see the minute expressions and details. I’m not that sort of reader when it comes to graphic novels, so whilst I can appreciate the story, I’m not exactly invested in it.

Y, por primera vez en cientos de años, la noche cobró vida con la música de los dragones.

Enjoyed the visual interpretation of the text but I think I would have missed out on a lot of detail/nuance if I hadn't read the book.

Also, boo for a predictably disproportionate amount of naked ladies vs dudes.
