This was not only as cute as expected, it was surprisingly touching. A poor lonesome hen who just dreams of her own chick living within a farm where each animal has its designated place - except for her, the outcast. This is something to show your kids, but especially to read on your own. What a beautiful gem.

Boy was I a mess after this one! such a great little story. a simple one yes but one with much courage and love within it. The hen is a wonderful mother and reminds me of my own. I think that’s what made the story hurt my heart so much. I finished the book in a single day. definitely a great read if you want something short!

Such a sad but so beautiful story about love, motherhood, courage and everything. I loved and I would like to read more from this author, she is so smart and her writing style is beautiful and captivating, she is an exceptional storyteller. Sometimes you don't need hundreds and hundreds of pages to tell a great story.
