The continuing Saga of Stephanie Plum. Funny. Not as good as some of her earlier ones, but still an entertaining read.
Even though the plot was fairly simple, I laughed out loud at the crazy situations and dialogue.
A lot of people said this was betther than her last few but I disagree. It's on par with the crap she's written as of late. Stephanie Plum needs to get herself together and choose between Ranger and Joe and find a new career. This one is a dead-end.

I really enjoyed this book but I just can't bring myself to give it 4 stars. The plot line(s) were kind of weak and never really grabbed by attention. But I loved all of the Ranger and the writing was as funny as every (I laughed so hard at Stephanie in the chicken suit that I got the hiccups!).

These really are the total popcorn books - you read them, and totally forget about them(other then the fact that they left a rather pleasant sensation while consuming them).
However, its hard to say how much longer the formula will last. The 15th installment of the series is very much the "same old, same old" - Stephanie is a hopeless mess, still unable to do her job; and still liability to cars; Lulu is still a bad dresser and overblown in everywhere possible; Grandma is still out of control; and both parents are still long-suffering.
Oh, and there is no resolution between the Ranger/Joe/Stephanie thing either.
So yeah, same old, same old.
I mean, can't Stephanie, I don't know, catch a criminal without something going wrong? Make a decision about anything? Cook a dinner? Have an iota of character development? Or one of the men in her life tell her to make a decision or get out? You know, move the series along?

As much as I have liked these books in the past, I think they are starting to lose their appeal. I feel like this one has two mysteries in it and neither one get as much attention as they deserve. In fact one of them is resolved so abruptly, you might as well not even have figured it out.

How disappointing. Just when I thought Evanovich had gotten into the heads of all of her characters and that she was improving with each book, along came this lackluster offering.
I found the plot gimmicky and lacking in engagement. I found the characters stagnant and cardboard. I found this book, overall, a rehash of most of the elements of previous books, with nothing new to offer. There were new characters introduced, old characters made their requisite cameos, there were wacky hijinks, and then the plot wrapped itself up nicely.
I did not appreciate the continuing of the theme that men who cross dress are hilarious.
I really hope this isn't the start of a new pattern. I liked the old pattern.
