Archers Hale is the single best book boyfriend I've ever come across. The definition of a cinnamon roll. I loved the disability representation in this book, the virgin MMC, and how sweet and steady their love was. But something that knocked it down a whole star was the 'I just needed a man to listen to me and wow my PTSD is healed!'

F off. Maybe that wasn't what the author was intending, and perhaps that's what some people have experienced? But it was so disingenuous to my own experiences that it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I did really enjoy the added scenes and authors commentary in my special edition. As well as the cover is simplistic but lovely šŸ˜

Overall a good read but I struggled with the FMC's PTSD experience. Oh and F Travis. And his mom. H**.

This book broke me and healed me all at once. Archer is one of the most beautiful, vulnerable characters I’ve ever read — his silence, his pain, and the way he learns to open up completely melted my heart. Bree’s strength and patience made their love story feel so genuine and tender.

The pacing of their relationship felt so real, slow, raw, and incredibly moving. I found myself cherishing every moment between them, rooting for Archer with every page. This isn’t just a romance; it’s a story about trauma, healing, and the courage to let yourself be loved.

An unforgettable read that left me in tears (the good kind).

3.5 Stars

The way my heartaches during the whole book. It was a romance I needed. Some aspects of it weren’t the best, but overall I liked it and I was crying in the damn club during it.

Archer Hale has all my love.

This book had so much wasted potential. In the beginning I really liked it. I immediately fell in love with both characters and up and until a 100 pages or so, I was convinced that this was going to be a 5āļø. I’d already owned this book for many years and always put it off because my expectations for it were extremely high, but in the first 100 pages I really loved it and thought that it definitely lived up to those expectations.

However, after those 100 pages I started having some problems with this book. First off, I didn’t love how quickly they got together. They were basically already a couple at 150 pages, which in my opinion in really early in the books because at that point I still had more than 200 pages left. Another thing that really annoyed me was the amount of spice in this book. I just expected this book to barely have any spice, and boy was I wrong. Since they got together I honestly felt like they had sex every single chapter and it bored me to tears. I also felt like their chemistry was just gone since the moment they started getting physically intimate. Like, in the beginning their connection was undeniable and I was in love with their relationship but the second they started having sex that just completely left for me. It also got to the point in which I honestly felt like DNF-ing it because of the spicy scenes, and while I didn’t end up doing that in the end, I definitely just skimmed over most of the spice because it just wasn’t worth my time and it was honestly ruining the book.

At the end though, I guess there was still a part of me that felt connected to these characters, because the ending of chapter 33 made me really emotional, which I didn’t expect at all. Luckily, things turned out fine afterwards, but I was definitely very scared for a little bit.

All in all, I definitely didn’t hate this book (though I did absolutely hate Travis, forgot to mention thatšŸ˜…), but it also really isn’t a favourite and it kind of disappointed me. I do recommend this book, just be aware that there is a lot of spice, which in my opinion ruins the emotional vibe this book had in the beginning.
