I fear I am stupid…I didn’t understand the point or commentary at all and what I did interpret it was trying to say - I didn’t like 🙂
(except for classism I did get that and do agree that that is a massive issue in the UK)

I found Universality a mixed bag of a book.
The first part starts as a longread article and I was gripped, it was pacy, funny and thought provoking.
Where I got lost a little is in the second half of the book where we are then addressing the aftermath of said article through each of the characters involved. It was well written and cleverly allowed us to see different points of view and perspectives, the lines between truth and fiction blurring as such they do with real life people, but this part somehow dragged for me and felt drawn out without saying much at all. The story didn’t feel like it moved along anywhere and was rather a jumble of thoughts and opinions for their sake only and because of that, an incredibly short book took me a long time to finish as I didn’t feel compelled to pick it up.
It might be the type of book that resonates more after multiple reads, but for me I don’t think I’ll necessarily be inclined to venture into that reread any time soon!

Everyone in this book would haaaaate me and that’s cool because I also find them horrible! Equality!
A lovely palate cleanser of a satire. I loved Assembly, and look forward to what Natasha Brown will have to say next.

I really enjoyed the structure of this books an how it played with form and point of view. The ending didn't quite hit for me. It wasn't abrupt, but it felt incomplete, almost like the author had written the story into a corner.
