A slim novel that offers critiques on class, economics, and gender. The middle two chapters, Edmonton and Weymouth were particularly well-juxtaposed and showed glimpses of real promise. The authors choice to settle on the character of Lenny as the eventual focal character was puzzling to me. The prose itself is average. Not a bad book to spend a few hours with, but ultimately feels incomplete, as so many promising threads are essentially abandoned. Another hundred pages would have served to more fully explore the dozen or so socio-cultural questions the book raises.
