Would have liked more action/heist and less of Loren and Darien fighting about an issue from the prior book 🙃

I keep hanging on in this series because I like the world and the characters, but damn there were more main characters in this book than there were kids in my graduating highschool class. When you have to mention five-seven people in each sentence to say where they are going…And I’m so bored with Lauren. It feels like she only acts as a plot device and a dream girl for Darian - her character feels so emotionally flat. Every scene that comes back to her it’s just ‘okay’ and ‘thanks’ like what in the trad wife are we doing. Her internal monologue just feels so undercooked and subpar to Roman, Max, Shay, Dallas…..basically any other POV character we get. Zero character development for her, a lot of wheel spinning. I also feel like a whole lot of nothing happened in the middle, then a whole hell of a lot happened very quickly and hastily explained or detailed in the back third - when any action started to happen. This author is much better when she lets characters breathe, which is weird to say when the book is almost 1000 pages long. I’m still hanging in there as a completist, but here’s hoping the next 2 books or last book or whatever wraps this up focuses less on Lauren and more on the ensemble characters whose pov’s and character building that we did actually get in this one.
