i enjoyed this story so much i didn't even have time to worry about how it involved two of my biggest fears (🦈+🌊)

the characters, the writing, the plot, the world building, the spice were all a+ for me and i had a lot of fun overall, but be sure to check book for all triggers.

This was pretty wild. So much happened in the start of this book and then again at the end. It felt like event after event being thrown in and I had no idea how it was all going to play out.

Definitely entertaining. I did feel like the main characters were pretty stupid at some points. Not in a relatable way, but an irritating 'how did you not even consider this option' way. Overall a strange mix of heavy emotional topics, spice and mystery. I think there were just too many ideas thrown into this one.

Ps. Enzo was just kind of the worst imo.

So after reading a couple of books from H.D. Carlton... I didn't mind this one. I do think it had much more sexual content than I was expecting... because I was really interested in the horror subplot about the man that took them in at the lighthouse. Like especially wish I had known more about how the wife died. Considering he literally tortured his family because he refused to accept change. Maybe it would've been nice to know too if like since people had come forward with accusations for Kev, that like Sawyer wouldn't actually be convicted of something that was--in reality--an act of self-defense. Idk, I'm conflicted. As much as I love spice in books, this may have been a little too much spice because the plot was very interesting.

This book was…okay. I liked the story, it was definitely gripping in the way it kept me invested. The spice was definitely hot in certain places. But it was when it turned more toward the violent side that it started to make me feel uncomfortable. Perhaps that’s on me for not checking trigger warnings.

I’m glad I did this as an audiobook…Troy Duran could be reading the phone book and I’d be over here swooning!

As a mom of boy/girl twins, I struggled with the "twist" between Sawyer and her twin brother because I kept picturing if that happened between mine. I enjoyed everything else about this book though.
