Assault, a misunderstanding of marine biologists and a lot of spice that could’ve been kinky if there was any consent involved…but instead was just cringey and super gross. I kept hoping for a twist wherein the MC kills this absolutely rapey “love interest” but nah… she ends up with him. Big nope energy.

Did HD Carlton just become my new auto-buy author? One hundred percent yes. 🦈

Did it Hurt just became the best book I've read this year. I am absolutely obsessed, and Enzo has taken place as one of my top Book Boyfriends. 🖤

For those of you that have read it, this book is nothing at all like The Cat And Mouse Duet. Though, its not surprising in the slightest that HD Carlton has written another emotinally HEAVY, dark romantic masterpiece. 😈

Crew, I'm beginning to question my morals because I feel most my reviews say this... But please please check Trigger Warnings ⚠️  especially before reading this bad boy. One of the triggers could be considered a spoiler, but I also want you to enjoy your read!

This standalone, let me tell you! I was hooked from the Prologue, obsessed by Chapter 5 and binging through this book as fast as I could the rest of the way. 🙌🏼

Very much Open Door Smut, the plot and the writing are incredible. The book was freaking fantastic. This enemies to lovers is chalk full of tension, those spooky HD Carlton vibes we love are very present, and mystery that keeps you hooked until the last page.

I love the relationship between Enzo & Sawyer. I loved the banter between the two of them and watching the relationship unfold, the character growth was absolutely beautiful. You can not help but feel for Sawyer through this book, and watching her grow, has you absolutely cheering for her through the book. Enzo, is a rival for many of my book Boyfriends, as I said earlier. He is the possessive, obsessive, dominant (yes I am going to say it, Instagram, don't ban me) asshole, that we love to see in an MMC.
