It was a well written book, and after Dreadful by the same author, which was a 5 star for me I thought I’d love this one. It just wasn’t for me I think. I enjoyed it as much as one can considering I’m not really into books about motherhood, pta school drama, or magical schools.
I do think it’s important to read diverse books which is why I still gave this a read knowing the topic didn’t interest me.
That said, it will probably rank higher for lots of ppl if they like books about motherhood or cozy fantasy versions of Harry Potter.

This was a lovely story about how parenting and friendship get turned on their heads when you add werewolves, selkies and mages to the mix. Rozakis did a wonderful job using the magical setting to talk about the struggles of being a good mother, a good wife and being good to yourself all become so difficult once your child develops a disability (or gets bitten by a werewolf). If you're looking for a cozy fantasy novel that isn't centred around a romance, definitely track this down (and Rozakis's debut novel, Dreadful, while you're at it).
