Generally an unpleasant experience. A lot of people complain about the first section being almost impossible to understand but for me that was the most enjoyable part; a character you didn't hate and some quite enjoyable prose experimentation.

The rest was an absolute slog, aside from moments of the second part. I'm glad I read "As I lay dying" before this, otherwise my opinion of Faulkner would be much more negative. As I lay dying is an understated, impressionistic masterpiece.

This is, as the title's Shakespeare references implies, a load of unpleasant, angry noise which ultimately says nothing.

Would have been really hard to read without class understanding of what was happening. I like that Faulkner bends the rules of normal expectations of literature.

I read this book as a senior in high school and then again in college. Is it possible to understand less of a story after you've read it a second time? Stream of conscious is very hard to read, but if you can get it, read this classic by Faulkner.
