This is the book the classic movie is based on and is the amusing story of Lorelei and Dorothy's adventures in Europe as they get men to buy them things, while traveling from place to place, seeking "to get educated" on Lorelei's part and having a good time on Dorothy's.  Lorelei is not terribly bright (the book is her diary and full of misspellings and wrongly chosen words), but she is terribly clever at getting what she wants out of men!  My version (published in 1925, but re-bound) has the original and charming illustrations.
Big content warning for racist language: Lorelei's maid is a Black woman, and Lorelei is fond of her, but she does use some of the accepted language of the time.  To her credit, Lorelei says, she doesn't understand why people use the N-word, but it was still shocking to see it in the book.
