My favourite in this series for now.
I've always loved Lucky: out of the four Kings, he's the one that fascinated me the most. And the many flirty, fiery moments he and Mason shared made me so curious to read about their relationship, and their hard-won HEA. And Charlie Cochet does not disappoint: this book lived up to all the expectations I had and actually exceeded them. This book has everything I love in a book: angst and drama, hate (or at least, dislike) to reluctant and explosive chemistry (*screaming* HOT HOT HATE SEX ALERT!) to love, two MCs that are scared of commitment and of being hurt, whom I loved with my whole heart, found family, comedy and romance and it left me with the lightest feeling in my chest. Just the kind of book I was looking for in these scary and frustrating times.
I loved both Mason and Lucky so much: they were perfect for one another. Lucky, in particular, showed some unexpected vulnerable and unbearably tender sides, that literally smacked me in the face with feels.
I also loved seeing the whole gang, as usual, and the humur and jokes and love and respect they all have for one another. Charlie Cochet is so good at creating the best found family vibes.
That epilogue has left me so curious to start the next book, even though King isn't my favourite. I'm really looking forward to seeing a bit more of him though, and hopefully I'll change my mind about him.
