On the morning of the reaping for the 10th annual Hunger Games, Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his shot at glory by being a Mentor for the tributes in the games. But after being given the embarrassing District 12 *female* tribute, the odds are against him. Coriolanus has been given the lowest of the low. District 12, and a girl.
This is probably one of the best prequels I’ve ever read. Suzanne Collins has shown exactly how President Snow ends up as heartless as he is in the Hunger Games books. And you see exactly why he hates Katniss so much.
Suzanne actually makes you root for Coriolanus at certain points of this book and it’s a confusing mind frame to be in. This book was amazing and I loved it. The way the original trilogy tie in with this prequel is unreal.
I rated The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes 5/5 stars and read it in 3 days.
