BDSM exploration MFM. Lilith Clay and
Travis

I liked the variety of BDSM scenes and the choice not to write so many that the reader is numb to the erotic and sensual elements. I felt some of the masochism u comfortable and the use of the second MMC helps validate that for readers. All are explicitly consensual.

3.5 stars. This was a hot book! The Architect is book three in the Nashville Neighborhood series and can be read as a standalone. This is Lillith's story. Lillith is a vet tech and is friends with Cassidy, who was introduced in The Doctor. She lives on the same block as Dr. Lowe, as well, in her parents' pool house. Her next door neighbor is Clay, an architect, who builds BDSM furniture in his spare time. She doesn't know him well, but has met him a few times. One night, Clay knocks on her door late at night in the rain. He knows she works with animals and he needs help. A stray cat tried to run into his house and he shut the door on it's tail by accident. Lillith comes over to help and check the cat over, and an attraction is formed. The cat, Noir, has adopted Clay and refuses to leave, but he travels for work most of the time. So Lillith volunteers to take care of Noir while Clay is out of town. But she is also very interested in Clay as well. She makes a bold move on him and a relationship begins. Clay is into BDSM and is a dom. The couple begins to play together and he even takes her to his sex club. Clay is into voyeurism and he invites a friend and fellow dom, Travis, to share Lillith with at the club. It seems like this is a one time thing. But as Clay travels for work, he decides to invite Travis to act as his surrogate while he is gone. Clay directs scenes via video call while Travis performs them with Lillith. She is really into this and so is Travis, but it makes things really complicated for everyone. Feelings develop and the situation is messy, while Lillith realizes she is falling for both men. It takes compromise and communication, but the three of them are able to form a relationship in the end.

I liked this book. It was super hot and sexy. I did think the romance was only okay. As I found in the other books in this series, it felt more like straight erotica than romance. There was a lot of extremely hot scenes, but I wanted a bit more emotion, character depth and connection. I didn't really feel much romance develop or feel the love that I hoped to by the end. I did like the characters in general, though. Lillith was sweet, if a bit aggressive. Travis was charming and easy going. It was easy to see why Lillith liked him. Clay was only okay for me. He didn't show a lot of emotion and could be a harsh dom. But I did like them all together in a relationship by the end (even though I hate the word "throuple"). This was an MFM relationship, with a dash of MMF on the side. I really would have liked an epilogue to see what their future was like together and to feel more secure in the relationship. I did think this book had an interesting, unique story and I was totally sucked in and entertained.

Overall, I did enjoy this book. Travis, Clay and Lillith share some very hot moments and a few emotional, angsty ones. If you are in the mood for an erotic book, look no further. I will forever be a fan of Nikki Sloane and I look forward to more from her in the future!

This book was written very poorly by someone who does not understand the kink community and how to participate safely. I understand that it is ‘fiction’ however, I could not overlook how inadequately it was written.

I did not know I was going to like this book as much as I did. I honestly had a fun time reading it.

Ahhhh! Where to begin? This one gets steamy right away... What happens when you take one nosy neighbor and throw her at a man determined to keep tight hold of his control? Explosions, explosions happen if you’re lucky! Lilith has no idea about the man lurking beneath the exterior of her buttoned up, glasses wearing “tech” neighbor, Clay. So much is revealed when she accompanies him to a club to meet with a client though, and she finds herself drawn into an unusual arrangement. It may be working out too well for her though. When lines start to blur, everything threatens to collapse unless these three can voice their truth and needs...

I dare you not to fall for the strong and resilient Lilith, who knows exactly what she wants and won’t settle for less. Clay, the man who is clouded by the regrets and mistakes in his past, pulled at my vulnerable heart in his own unique way. Mr E won me over from the first second he entered the page. He is like a siren song because he’s the one who isn’t “supposed” to be there. He’s all the more alluring for his illicit nature, and after you’ve already fallen for him, his personality is revealed and you realize why you’ve loved him—both of them really—all along. These three are meant for each other!

The taboo-ness and spicyness is definitely there. Maybe *too* much smut and not enough plot
