I really enjoyed this book! It was funny and cute! an enjoyable, amusing light read!
Fantastic way to incorporate so many lives and the final girl with the dress had me laughing until I cried.
This is such a charming compilation of stories all revolving around the same little black dress. I loved how all the women's lives were impacted differently by their time wearing the dress and the pace at which the book flowed was perfect. The interconnectedness of the characters was very well done and it wrapped up perfectly. I am not typically one for chick lit/romance type books but this one was very engaging and kept me turning pages.

I picked up this book for two reasons: One, it was a Winner of a Reader's Choice Award at my local library; Two, it fit a prompt for a reading challenge. That being said, I did not like this book. The writing was okay. However there was no real plot, and to be honest, it was a bit dull. I would say this book is a romance...or rather multiple romances at once. I think it was the multiple romances that made me dislike the book. Not because I don't enjoy multiples, but because there were two many main characters (and storylines) to keep track of. Very few of the individuals in each arc interacted with each other and the story arcs skipped around a lot. It was bit like trying to read multiple books from a series of related novellas all at the same time. The main link in the book: at least one character in each story had some sort of encounter with "The Dress". Overall, I give the book two stars.
Minor: Infidelity, Racism, Sexual content, Religious bigotry
Cute book. I would have liked it better if it were Six or Seven Women, One Dress. There were too many characters to track. I enjoyed the characters but if there were fewer of them they could have been a little more developed.
I was surprised how much I liked this book as I initially picked it as a fun, easy read. It was fun and I easily read it in a day because I had trouble putting it down. I enjoyed the variety of characters and how they were all interconnected in little ways.
It all begins with one Little Black Dress. From the moment a shy Southern model is pushed into the limelight, this particular dress becomes a smashing hit and changes the lives of eight other women who wear it.
I really enjoyed this novel, told in multiple vignettes from a variety of perspectives outside of the nine women who get their hands on this one particular black dress from Bloomingdale's. It was apparent this would be a treat to read, and perfect for the approaching holiday season.
Of all the vignettes, I liked Natalie's the most. She's a simple Bloomingdale's salesgirl who was asked by a movie star and his agent to step in as a red carpet date last minute. Fueled by rumors of the star's sexuality, Natalie agrees, believing this would be the perfect way to get back at her ex and not fall for the star. Little does she know...
There's also a sweet storyline between Arthur, a lawyer, and Felicia, his longtime secretary. One nosy Bloomingdale's employee purposely messes up Arthur's order, and the dress is sent to sweet Felicia instead of Arthur's snobbish girlfriend.
From an Instagramming millennial to a longtime pattern-maker for a phenomenal fashion designer, this dress touches the lives of several people. A quick and charming read, you're guaranteed to find a storyline to hook you in through the end.

*I received an electronic ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
Yes this is totally a fluff read, but it was a really good fluff read! The writing was very good! Each story wrapped up so nicely, each character was special. Loved it.
