This was so charming! Multiple stories all interconnected not by crossover characters or chance meetings but by a little black dress. The final page of the book - about the power of dresses in women's lives made me tear up a touch. Light, frothy and absolutely delightful.

I won this book as a FirstRead.

Though the title is called Nine Women, One Dress, the book talks about not just the women who wear it, but also some of the men it impacts, such as the pattern maker who made the little black dress that has become the “it” dress of the season. Most of the women in the story end up with the same dress from Bloomingdale’s – a girl who works at Bloomingdales and is asked to accompany a movie star to his movie’s premiere, a private detective who tries on the dress to try to get evidence that a man is cheating on his wife, a recent college graduate who posts a picture of herself in the dress to Instagram to make her friends believe she has a better life than she does, and so forth.

Some of the scenarios are a little far-fetched, but the story is nonetheless amusing. Most of the characters in the story get their happily ever after. I recommend this story to anyone looking for a light, fluffy read to make you feel good and have a few laughs.

The story of the dressmaker to me was the most interesting part of the story.  This book also felt like an advertisement for Bloomingdales.  A very New York Book.

I'll be honest, this was going to be more of a filler book for me because I needed a break from extreme heartbreaking books that I read back to back, I'm sure we all have made that mistake at some point. What I didn't expect was some beautiful storytelling and how much this dress changed their lives. It gave me shivers, it gave me tears and it gave me smiles. I hope others enjoy it as much as I have.

I once saw a literary critic comment denote a light-hearted romp of a novel set in Paris as “a bonbon of a book” and I’ve always wanted to use that description...well! This is the smartest writing that I have come across in a long time with intricately interwoven stories set in the Big Apple. The connections among the characters remind me of stories written by Maeve Binchy, only saucier, sexier and more cosmopolitan. I am forever grateful for the addition of two new Scrabble words to add to my repertoire: muzjik and aligram. Honestly. Literally. Seriously.

This book was so good I ended up reading way too late at night, fighting sleep and being very tired the next day. That is how you know a book is really good. Each chapter is a new story, but they all are tied together by the dress. Genius!

CUTE! So glad I picked it up. Great summer read.

Varying points of view kept me on my toes. I loved some of the pov characters; others not so much. In the end a really enjoyable story. Light enough for a beach read/vacation read but with enough depth to feel worthwhile (although beach reads are extremely worthwhile in my opinion).
