The best of the three I’ve read so far. Hoping each book gets continually better

Same old thing. I swear the guys are all made from the same cookiecutter. Long hair, intriguing eyes, Rippling muscles, very well endowed (Which I guess is understanding, no one wants to read about a small member?) bad attitude. They are always glowering and vowing never to love again for some reason or another. The girls are usually self absorbed, low self-esteem, coming out of a bad relationship wanting to be independant. When the two meet the man wants to possess her, the girl wants to be possessed, something about the girl, the girl always is the target for poorly dialogued villains. WHY DO I KEEP READING? Archeron amuses me. Thats about it.

Plus I like the supernatural part.

Oh, so good! Talon and Sunshine, I forgot that wasn't his original name, and I forgot about his sister, but I remembered her grandmother, and who she was, which was nice, and yeah, can't wait to see more of them!!!

So this series is starting to grow on me a bit.

I am at least interested in learning about some of the other Hunters.
Classic tortured/anti heroes. I did not like Sunshine in the beginning but I must say that the ladies of these stories have had a little more backbone than those in a similar series.....just sayin'

I will probably continue after taking a brief break.

So, I wrote a review for this when I read it but accidentally deleted a whole bunch of reviews when I was reorganizing my shelves... So I guess I just have to read them all again so I can give accurate reviews :D

The story of Talon, a cursed and lonely Dark Hunter, and Sunshine, a forgetful, sunshiny artist.

The two make an unlikely pair, being vastly different in every aspect, but there's intense chemistry between them that deepens and develops into more. Their road is far from easy, though, considering that Talon was cursed by a vengeful god to lose every human he ever comes to love, on top of the usual obstacles his being a Dark Hunter would pose.

What starts as a one-time thing between them turns out to be a lot more when
Spoilerit comes to light that Sunshine is actually Talon's long lost wife and only love's reincarnation
which brings a whole new set of issues on the table.

Very extensive, intricate world, with various groups that I'm curious to learn more about, with Acheron being the one on top of the list. Unfortunately, his story doesn't come until book 8, so I'll have to be patient and enjoy the ones that come before it first, starting with misunderstood Zarek's story next in [b:Dance with the Devil|84145|Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter #3)|Sherrilyn Kenyon|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1388703603s/84145.jpg|991924].

Previous book reviews (Entire Dark-Hunter Universe series):
Dragonswan (Sebastian - Channon)
Night Pleasures (Kirian - Amanda)
Fantasy Lover (Julian - Grace)
Where Angels Fear to Tread (short story - Zeke)

Werewolves and Daimons, and bears, oh my! This is a story full of blood, fangs, gods, god-bolts, new characters, drool worthy guys, feisty heroines, hints to future alliances and stories, were-hunters, dream-hunters and more.

It's smart, red-hot sexy, side-splitting funny and heart-wrenchingly poignant. SK's imagination is wonderful, but it is her ability to create the most vivid, laugh-out-loud humor to relieve the well-drawn tension that had me begging more more. SK has created a world that will leave you breathless and wanting to spend a lot of time in New Orleans. I am definitely going to go on a quest to find Sanctuary.

Talon is a dark hunter (sort of a vampire who only kills the real vampires), Sunshine is a left-over, lovable hippie, and together . . . all I can say is wow!
It's like they are Dharma and Greg of the Dark Hunter world. I absolutely loved this book.

I liked the character of Sunshine Runningwolf. The fact that she's not a standard romance heroine (i.e. a perfect size 6 and obsessing about her weight, wanting to get married before the age of 30), is actually refreshing. I also love the fact that like many of Ms. Kenyon's female leads, they are sexually liberated women. they have no problems oogling and lusting over a good-looking man.

Talon is yet another one I wouldn't kick out of my bed for eating crackers (and he does). Just the descriptions of him dressed in his trademark leathers was enough for me to grab a fan. I don't even mind that he keeps two crocodiles as pets and prefers living in the swamp.

His story, like most of th Dark-Hunters is one of vengeance and redemption, but in the hands of a skilled writer it doesn't turn into a hackneyed plot device. Talon has to find his own way to freedom, and it's enough to tear my heartstrings.

Of course, I've fallen madly in love with the just borderline psychotic Zarek. The exchanges between him and Nick are priceless. Perfect choice of music for Zarek to listen to, 'Hair of the Dog' by Nazereth.

It was nice to revisit old friends like Kyrian and Julian again. Acheron even comes off as a bit more human (the nose ring was a great touch), and I can't wait to read his story.

My difficulty with this entry into the Dark Hunter-verse wasn't with the main characters. I loved Sunshine and enjoyed learning more about Talon. It was the weak plot.

They meet and start doing it! Love that. But Sunshine apparently was Nynian, Talons wife, in her past life. So that means they're automatically in love? Even though Sunshine shows her concern for Talons love for HER vs Talons love for Nynian. And then it's never really resolved?

And the Big Bads? Well it turns out their Big Evil Plan wouldn't work. So there wasn't a whole lot of fighting Diamons as there was.. fighting between the dark hunters.

Ash continues to be my favorite because he is SO mysterious. I am beyond ready for his installment in the series.
