“[I]n the corner all they had was Murderbot, who just wanted everyone to shut up and leave it alone so it could watch the entertainment feed all day”

I really enjoyed this book! Throughout I got really invested in these characters despite its length, and I’m definitely going to read the rest of the series. I have to say though, that especially in the beginning I felt like the humor was trying way too hard, but I felt myself get into it the further the book went (especially because it felt extremely relatable)
adventurous funny lighthearted fast-paced

Definitely one of those books that kind of feels like a spec script for a TV pilot. Good news is; I liked it and now I want to watch the Apple+ series. Looking forward to more adventures with my good friend Murderbot.

A very unique and plain fun voice.
When are you confronted with a sarcastic AI that is part of a realistic universe and not just played for laughs? I like the humor and pacing. It will be interesting how this series will play against the grain in the next ones still

I really enjoyed this book. Listened to it on audiobook, kinda wish I’d had the full thing but it’s probably why I was able to finish it in one day. I appreciate the first person narrating of MurderBot, it’s just a silly little guy to me, I like how introverted and awkward it is def relatable. I also appreciate that MB doesn’t really have a gender, it’s kinda just a being who exists, and at the end of the day is just “one confused entity”. The interactions it has with the rest of the cast is fun too, them all being well meaning humans and it is just like eww face to face interaction, don’t make me talk about my feelings. Mensah is my favorite of course, queen love her.

"I liked the imaginary people on the entertainment feed way more than I liked real ones, but you can’t have one without the other."

Yep. I am 'Team Murderbot'.
