Say You'll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez

emotional medium-paced

This was my 1st Abby Jimenez book, I was so excited because I’ve only heard great things about her books. Sadly I was unimpressed. The story was ok, I did not like the way that the FMC interacted with her family she was out right hostile to her broker and rude and judgmental of her sister. I did really like the MCC, and the way that he showed his love for the FMC.

Abby has done it again. I marvel at the way she can write a story that immediately draws you in, makes you feel all the emotions from love to sadness, hope and inspiration, with humor throughout. There’s so much depth and it’s a happy story while also covering real life topics that often just suck. I love the focus on the everyday moments in life, not just the big events. I think Hank was my surprise favorite character and I love the wisdom he brought to Xavier. This was just an amazing story and I can’t wait to see where else she takes us with this new series.

What can I say? Abby Jimenez knocked it out of the park. This story had everything I didn’t know I needed. The spice was understated and fun, the family drama was infuriating and heartwarming; the emotion tugged at all the right notes; the animals were adorable; and I laughed out loud so many times.

There were a LOT of sub plots and baggage to sift through. Her family, his parents, the veterinary practice, Hank, her job and how it all intertwined. It was a lot for a romance, and at times it felt like the romance style, stepped back to let the heavier plot lines show through which was a bit unexpected. However, the way everything came together neatly at the end felt perfect

I didn’t know what to expect, but wow. This book made me feel every single emotion, which I didn’t even really know was possible from reading a book. I laughed out loud, got teary-eyed, smiled, was anxious, all of the above!!

Something felt like it was missing from the book, so I do wish some parts were a bit more detailed, but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. It felt realistic and as if I were a fly on the wall experiencing the family’s story first hand. It was my first Abby Jimenez book, so I’m excited to read more in the future and I’m hopeful to one day get more of this family in another book.

This book had me in love at 6% and bawling from 19% until the end. I absolutely loved Samantha and Xavier. How hard they worked to be together. Xavier is an absolute sweetheart and sacrifices so much to keep Samantha in his life.

With Samantha’s mom’s dementia playing a major role in this story, my heart absolutely shattered. The pain of losing someone who’s still physically there was beautifully written. It was reminiscent of my experiences with loved ones who’ve had dementia, so being mindful of your triggers and what you can handle would be best before starting this.

I can always count on Abby for a wonderful love story.

Lovely duet narration; this one felt more sad than previous AJ books, but the HEA was earned.
