One of the first novels that I got to read. It was a great introduction to reading!

Another read aloud with my kids. It was pretty funny and the audio book is well done. I think the grandma is terrible though. I guess that is kind of the point? But also, they couldn't believe they just made her disappear in the end and then were content with that. Not really a great message there. So the kids gave it a 4/5. I might have given it a bit less.

Une petite histoure bien sympathique, on peut imaginer que la famille soit ravit de ce qui arrive avec la Grand-Ma.

This was both one of Dahl's funniest books and also one of his most disturbing. I feel a bit conflicted about reading this story to my kids as the protagonist is creating a medicine out of household chemicals to feed to his grumpy grunion of a grandma. Funny, but a bit dark even for Dahl. Not quite as essential as some of his other short works but definitely worth a read.
