Characters and the action are both fun, but the writing style and the hippie anthropology filtered through colonial guilt make for pretty lame book.

The movie (Avatar) is much better.

2 stars for the writing, as I can see her talent. But why would I want to torture myself with such blatant atocities when I am already educated enough on the dark matter of human beings thank you.

4.5 estrellas. Tengo que confesar que el principio se me hizo duro. En su momento lo achaqué a la traducción, pero ahora que he acabado la historia, no lo tengo tan claro.

Cuántas capas y capas tienen las historias de Ursula K. Le Guin. Y qué gustazo es leer todos y cada uno de sus libros.

This was a tough read. The main character is meant to embody all of the male stereotypes. He is a macho, egotistical… I pictured his as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast but add racism, power, and machine guns. That said, of course it’s not comfortable to read. It’s the authors intention to make a statement. This book reflects on all of the things that make it tough. Glad someone is willing to say the hard things.
