There are many in this world who accomplished great feats. Napoleon Hill's greatest work was tricking the public into furthering his scam. Maybe the book has some valuable teachings, I made it halfway through and enjoyed what I had read. But, does that necessarily make it effective? It's kind of like not wanting to invest with someone who declared personal bankruptcy, twice. Many examples used in the book are falsified and at best, exaggerated. Do yourself a favor and read one of many amazing books written by people who have achieved real successes. A few bits of useful advice mixed in with a whole lot of psudoscience and silliness. It's basically "The Secret" for the business world.

As usual these kinds of books never account for two major flaws:
1. Acknowledging people that did desire and work hard and didn't succeed.
2. Successful people don't often know the real reason for their success.

Principles are great.  The patriarchal undertones were made me cringe.

My eyes bled a little.

Good book I like the ideas on the autosuggestions and just the whole thing on subconscious mind and the use of our imagination. I left a bunch of highlights and markers in the book to come back to time again just to remind my self of some of the principles learned.

This book really surprised me with its forward thinking considering the time when it was written. The vast majority of the concepts here are very relevant, even today, and I think, provides a really good summary of exactly what it says on the cover. I am impressed, because I found myself agreeing with almost everything that was written. The concepts are nothing revolutionary, but the author writes in a way that just makes everything simple and connected in a logical way.

Really enjoyed it. Will need to reread at some point.

Can you assign negative numbers? To be fair, maybe it’s interesting from a historical perspective - how the worship of capitalism arose from the despair of the Great Depression - as long as no one uses it as a guide for how to behave today.

There is some good advice but the book is all over the place.
