I always like a good mystery series, & I think this will fit right in. Eager to read the others by this author.

Likable heroine in a southern set cozy mystery. I had a hard time keeping the characters straight and appreciated having a who's who scorecard to keep track of major players living and dead. The twisty mystery kept me hooked and I'll seek out the follow up.

Relax in the summer sunshine in an Adirondack chair on a wraparound porch with a sweet tea in one hand and this cozy mystery in the other! This delightful series tackles murder, mischief, and mayhem with a hint of the supernatural and a wink of Southern charm.

Good mystery, light romance, and giggles. Loved the low country and upstate connections. I also loved the protagonist, Liz Talbot. I can't wait to see what is next for her!

I have read quite a few mysteries from Henery Press and loved each one. This publishing house knows how to pick 'em. So very glad I have a Nook so I can get them all at a reasonable price.
This was my first by Susan M. Boyer and it is definitely not going to be my last. I love Southern mysteries. There's always plenty of 'bless your heart' sideways compliments and sweet tea. And Gothic edge of darkness. I lean towards the Southern set mysteries that make me snort laugh and was glad to add this series to that mix.
Next in the series, LOWCOUNTRY BOMBSHELL, is on the Nook ready to roll...
Definite recommend.

This book reminded me of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. But Liz Talbot lives in South Carolina rather than New Jersey. Her sidekick is a ghost which gives the story an interesting twist.

When the story begins Liz hears of her grandmother's death. She travels to her home town for the funeral and learns that her grandmother has left Liz her house. She also discovers that her grandmother's death was no accident. She was murdered. She moves into her grandmother's house permanently and commences investigating the murder. She gets entangled in a local politics and family dramas.

It is an entertaining little story but I don't think I'll be reading the rest of the series. Not because I didn't like the characters, but because I kind of got burned out on these little serial adventures after reading so many of them.

If you like these types of books, you definitely will enjoy this one with its rich characters and compelling storylines full of Southern charm.

This book does a great job achieving the reader in place and bringing the setting to life. Liz is a solid character, one you can picture and relate to in many ways. The mystery is appealing, making it difficult to know exactly who is involved in what nefarious schemes, and who is simply on the periphery. The biggest downside I see with this book is that it’s slow to get started and really suck the reader in. I’m glad I stayed with it because I did enjoy the story and will read other books in the series. But readers looking for action early in the book may not enjoy it.
