I loved Side Trip as much as I loved the author’s previous books that I’ve read! I read this on a road trip, which was fun, because it’s about a road trip. Joy is a joy and Dylan is my new favorite leading man. I will say there is an ending to this one that will either make you throw your book or you may love it, like I did! This book is really about living your best life and the road not taken. ⁣

OMG!!! Kerry never disappoints! This happens to be my favorite book of her so far, which isn't saying much because i have loved every single book she's written so far. I fell so in love with the characters in this book that i had to pull myself back to reality most times, the plot, the twists, everything was amazing! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

This book blew me away! What an emotional ride and an ending I totally did not see coming. Wow—mind-blown!

Joy sets out on a trip to honor her sister. Little did she know how much her life would change on this trip. She and Dylan, two strangers, agree to share a ride to New York after his car breaks down. But they lay down some rules before they start their trip.

Side Trip is an emotional, gut-wrenching, beautiful story that will make you feel all the feels and break your heart. It brought me to tears, that's how close I came to the characters and the emotions they were going through. I can't recommend this book enough. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I definitely would.

You really need to get your hands on a copy of Side Trip and take a trip thorough this story this summer. It will be a journey you won't soon forget, I promise!

An emotional cross country journey for one woman turns into so much more than she ever could have bargained for. Her sister is gone. Guilt consumes her. Taking her last list of things to do on Route 66, her bags and her car, Joy sets out to live the life her sister no longer can. She never though the favor she does for Dylan Westbrook would change everything. Travelling together they find themselves throwing caution to the wind, taking side trips and lossing themselves in each other. But reality is always right there waiting for them. She has a fiancé, he has a job overseas. Will their journey be a side trip and the long winding road of life, or will they take the road less travelled and follow their hearts? It's a beautiful story, with a bunch of heart and soul and an endless well of heartache and tragedy.

Wow. Just finished this book (one day read) and my emotions are all over the place.

This is easily my favorite of all Lonsdale's books. I'm a sucker for a romance, and Dylan and Joy deliver. Sure, there are plenty of what ifs and what could have beens thread through this ten-day journey across the country where promises are made and broken and relationships are tried and tested.

But the ending. Honestly, it is one of the most jaw-dropping conclusions I've ever read. I was completely unprepared for all the feels and you will be too.

Strap in for a fun, musical, and magical ride with characters you won't soon forget. CONGRATULATIONS, Kerry, on an absolute winner.

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest review.

Kerry, you have done it again. I loved this book, Side Trip. It is such a good story! Where is my Dylan?! Lonsdale has the best characters, flaws and all. You fall in love with these people and I personally, would love for the stories to keep going and going. If you have never read a Kerry Lonsdale book, she is amazing. Her writing style flows and is super easy to follow. If her time line does jump around, as it does in Side Trip, she clearly marks every chapter. It is easy to follow time changes and character changes too.

In Side Trip, Lonsdale introduces us to Joy. Joy lost her sister in a car accident. In an attempt to keep her memory alive and to accomplish her sister's last wishes, Joy sets out on a cross country trip to knock a few things off of the bucket list. Joy comes across Dylan and together they take many "side trips" on their way to their intended destinations.

I highly recommend if you haven't read a Kerry Lonsdale book, you absolutely should check one out soon! As for Side Trip, I highly recommend it. Bring your tissues! I will continue to be a Lonsdale fan and will always look for her newest works. Special Thanks to NetGalley, Kerry Lonsdale, & Lake Union Publishing for the advance digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book takes you on an emotional road trip as Dylan and Joy travel Route 66. Dylan and Joy are strangers who are each dealing with inner turmoil when their paths crossed. The story travels through dual timelines, with flashes back to Dylan and Joy's past.
I couldn't put this book down wanting to know how Dylan and Joy's story would end. I smiled, I cried and I sighed with contentment as this story progressed. I was surprised with the twist at the end and will be thinking of this book for quite some time.

Loved this story! The characters were so likeable and the plot was unique. As I was nearing the end, I thought I would hate the conclusion. But, then it surprised me with a twist, and I was happy again.
