Das Beste an diesem Hörspiel waren die Sprecher, der Inhalt des Buches war dagegen ein Flop für mich. Spannende Plots blieben ungelöst, die Charaktere waren naiv und schwach geschrieben und das Rätsel, wer der Mörder ist, viel zu simpel. Besonders der Ermittler Rob Ryan stellte sich bei seinem Job an, als wäre es sein erster Tag gewesen, absolut unfähig in seiner Berufung. Das einzige spannende an diesem Werk waren die Rückblicke zum ehemaligen ungelösten Fall. Nicht sonderlich lesenswert.

i wish i had the energy to rant about how much i can’t believe i ended up hating ryan. im curious about how he even became a detective in the first up LOL.
Love this book! Very dark and twisty but worth trying to sort it all out. Even better the second time! Plus there's a sequel of sorts!

I know that Ryan was written as a sort of antihero, but he is truly one of the most unlikable, lazy detectives I’ve ever read. I truly can’t believe I finished this book.
I think I was mostly hoping for some sort of big reveal on his childhood mystery, but don’t waste your time if that’s why you keep reading this book.
He’s a shitty detectives, a shitty friend, a shitty son, and a shitty roommate and he makes virtually no apologies for it.
From the moment Rosalind attached herself to Ryan, I knew what she was and that she was behind her sister’s murder. That the author thought it was some kind of giant twist speaks volumes to the gullibility of readers if they didn’t see that coming a mile away.
The only redeeming part of this book is that Cassie ends up with a romantic partner who sees, respects and cares for her.

i really enjoyed this story until about page 300 or so. i was genuinely intrigued since page 1, and that almost never happens with me. i liked the story a lot (until the ending), and found myself constantly thinking about it. i just wish the ending turned out better. like it disappointed me a lot... but aside from that, this book was pretty good!!
it can be read as a standalone or a series, and i think for now, i'll keep it as a standalone. but maaaybe if i get bored, i'll get the series haha.

DNF - hated the characters hated the voice and the plot and was getting tired of the misogyny so googled when you find out the mystery to keep me going and YOU DON'T EVEN FIND IT OUT. Putting it down ... Frustrated because it started strong and I bought both the book and audiobook and gave her other book Faithful place 5 stars.
