This was a good read. Not fantastic, obviously, but still good. I did feel like the start of any actual plot was at like the halfway mark of the book. Before it, it was more like the aftermath of the previous book i.e.
Bastien becoming a vampire(which was most of it) and Celine losing her memories and basically everyone lying to her.
Though I will admit, the reveal of
the Sylvan Vale and Wylde was a nice suprise.
But more importantly
PLEASE DON’T LET ODETTE DIE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SHE NEEDS TO HAVE HER YURI MOMENT I BEG YOU RENEE PLEASE.

This wasn’t as good as the first book unfortunately. A lot of the tension and mystery isn’t there anymore, though I think it will return for the next book so I’m excited for that. I also didn’t like how forced the love triangle was. What I did appreciate though was the journey into fae lands and learning more about their world.

Not as great as the first book, but maybe it’s just due to the addition of the fae. Reminded me more of The Cruel Prince than Twilight.
