This was one of those books I developed a hate for about halfway through but had to trudge along, just in case the grand reveals at the end will be worth it. They were not. I suppose the "cozy murder mystery" genre simply isn't for me, so I learned something from this after all.
I'm not sure if it was the audiobook or the book itself, but oh my god why do these people talk so much and narrate every single thought about every single thing and why are there so many characters, all of whom with quirks we are supposes to find "charming", and all of whom we are supposed to care about but really don't.
The only good thing I can say about this book is that it was the first time I've run into a septuagenarian Mary Sue, which was refreshing.
