Good book if you’re looking for a quick, wealthy family mystery, set in the woods type of read.

The characters in the book are wonderfully written. Told from multiple points of view and different timelines, initially confusing at first and it took me a while to work out that both the name if the character and the time in the story is given as chapter headers. once I had figured this out, the story was engaging and fast-moving . There were some simply horrid unlikeable characters, but there were enough likeable ones to counter this. My favourite characters were Louise and Judy. The themes of the book are secrets, lies, class, privilege, grief, nature, and power.  There were a few loose ends towards the end of the book that had no bearing on the story (Delphine), but other than that, it's an enjoyable mystery with good suspense, a great plot and very accessible writing style.

A highly anticipated book for me. I really liked the writing style. I feel like this book was a really well written mystery and it kept me engaged the whole time. I liked the ending. All of my question were resolved. I really liked the characters and the investigator POV. There were a lot of timelines and POVs that would have been hard to keep straight if I hadn’t read the physical copy but I love both of these things in a book.

Fast, addictive read. Sad and frustrating. Good beach read
