Not my favorite John Scalzi novel but it was fun. I prefer when he doubles down on the absurd and comic modes.

This series is not that, although it does have its funny moments, but it's an enjoyable romp.

Fun and interesting thing about these books - almost no one gets a physical description. There’s generally no eye color, hair color or skin color mentioned. The names are all over the (old Earth) map, but you’re not given much hint whether the people with those names look like you might expect them to in 2020, so you can just picture them however you want.
Anyway. DANG, the potential end of the human race is STRESSFUL (Kiva Lagos still makes it manageable). I think I prefer my scheming villains to scheme offscreen, and to only find out about their dastardly plans once they’ve been thwarted.

This is basically the Foundation series with more banging and a lot of swearing. Not sure what else you would want or need?

My enjoyment of this series seems correlated with the collapse of the flow.
