If Konstantin and Vasya met on Tinder:
26/12/2020
Konstantin : Hey girl, you have beautiful eyes. Are you a witch? Cause I've fallen under your spell.
Vasya: Haha, you're cute. I'm not a witch :P. I'm a pilot.
Konstantin: A woman pilot! You wouldn't catch me on that plane! You know what they say about women's driving.. haha
Vasya: ......
Konstantin: Aw come on, I'm just joking.
27/12/2020
Konstantin: *Sends dick pic*
Vasya: WTF..... Ok, not interested. Bye.
Konstanin: : Whatever you B**** , you're ugly anyway. F*** you.

While The Bear and the Nightingale was enchanting and atmospheric with a relatively slow and simple plot, The Girl in the Tower was much more action-packed and adventurous, with intriguing Russian court dynamics and epic battles of sorcery.
At the end of the first book, I was left wanting more of some of the chyerti (Russian folklore spirits), and in this book, we definitely got much more insight into some of their characters—the frost demon Morozko in particular.
I also thought the villain in this installment was way more compelling than in the first book, largely because the first book waited so long to reveal who was pulling the strings behind the conflict in the village, while the sequel focused more on a long game of deception that culminated in a satisfying reveal.
Overall, this sequel delivered everything I was left desiring from the first book, while still maintaining the lyrical prose and folklore spirit that captivated me in The Bear and the Nightingale.

Although the second book had more action, there were moments when the pacing felt slow. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this more than the first one.
