DRACULAS BRIDES RETELLING WITH SAPPHICS???? literally read this in two hours instead of sleeping but IT WAS SO WORTH IT
the writing style and format was definitely unique, considering it’s our MC Constantas letter she wrote for Dracula after his death, but i loved the concept, specifically because of the sapphics.. along with their yearning ESPECIALLY AT THE OPERA HOUSE.
the entirety of this book was GAY and i wanna hug it so bad. the found family bonds between constanta, magdalena and alexi made my heart full i wanna read it again.. it was also such a quick and easy read, i loved every second of it.
ANOTHER NOTE IS the ending was so bittersweet but it was the ending that all three of them deserved and all i can say is five stars HONESTLY.

This book is a masterpiece.
The story is carved in my brain .
One of the best retellings of Draculas brides, ever.
Dark,queer and poetic.

I *love* vampire stories, and this is leaps and bounds above most that I have read. The prose is beautiful, the story is compelling, I felt for the characters.
It’s the story of trauma and abuse recovery more than anything else, and about bonds formed during that abuse, and about escaping together. I love all three of the “wives” (two wives, one husband), their personalities were very distinct.
Gorgeous. Love love love this. When I find a special edition that I can’t live without I will be buying it.

It was fine. It started with all of the ingredients of a classic gothic vampire story, but towards the middle and end I could see that it was mostly just fluff. It abandoned all deeper storylines and themes of angst, power dynamics, and other common tropes of a vampire fiction that makes it compelling and tragic. Instead, it was more of a "and everyone was happy! The end!" kind of story. Which is nice if you want something that doesn't require a whole ton of contemplation or critical thinking. I think this book has it's strengths and is written well and I found the perspective interesting, but manage your expectations, and please don't think you're picking up a retelling of Dracula.

Excellent. S.T. Gibson is becoming a real contender for my favourite author. This is probably her best book that I’ve read so far. Constanta is a really special character. The book truly feels like I’m reading her hand written memoir.
The only negative I have about this book is I would have liked to see more our “Dracula” character’s shades. This feels like a strange thing to ask from a memoirist about their abuser, but it’s fiction, so I’m gonna try not to judge myself.
(Apparently, there is a chapter from Dracula’s pov in one of the special editions… why do authors/publishers do this to us?)
