In this Narnia edition, we get to explore the seven deadly sins. Joining Prince Caspian on his journey to find some missing nobles are Lucy, Edmund, and their younger cousin Eustace. As the ship sails from island to island, the children discover new lands and peoples. Each discovery reveals how falling prey to temptation has unfortunate consequences that the children must avoid themselves if they are to continue on in their journey.
I wanted to read this book for the longest time. I started reading the series at the end of 2022. It felt like reading a children’s book but the story was good.
okay, so this book has the absolute best ending in the series so far. I LOVE how C. S. Lewis incorporated God into that end scene. ❤
Now, for the book itself . . . I like it, I do, but . . . it's almost as if the book and the movie were two different stories, and, frankly, that's all I can think of them as - different stories - or else one will ruin the other and vice versa. You get what I mean?
I really like this book, and I gave it an extra star just for that end scene (I mean, have you read it? It's beautiful). *sheepish grin*
There's a lot of good descriptions in this book, and it made me feel like I was transported into Narnia - probably more than any other of the books I've read so far. And Narnia is a wonderful place to be. *gets nostalgic all of a sudden* ❤

Currently reading this aloud with Benji (and sometimes Daniel) and enjoying the voyage very much. Benji went to bed tonight whispering "dufflepuds" (what fun playing with language).

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is my favorite, but this one is really good, and it ended differently than I expected. I like being surprised at the end of a book, and I love having ambiguity in the ending, which this definitely did. Lewis was a master story teller.

Hitting the home stretch of this series with my childhood fave, this was almost as strong but didn't quite hold up as well - I read a lot more high fantasy these days though, I just think if this book had been a ood chunk longer it would have been so good.
