I really enjoyed this one, felt like an improvement over the last novel. Just a very solid book.

Yeaaaa...I think I just prefer this story in graphic novel form with C.S Pacat's writing and Johanna's art. Having someone else take the reigns wasn't doing it for me? Maybe I'll try again later.
5* for Nicholas and Seiji’s chapters, 1.5*s for Aiden’s and Harvard’s up until the end, which would have redeemed them, but took far too long and painful a road to get there. The trope was unpleasant when it surfaced at the end of the previous book, but there it just affected a chapter or two, not a whole book.
2023 reread: idc if people don't like the novels, i absolutely ADORE them. who doesn't want fan-service stories that are stupid in the best possible way and add extra depths to the characters that the comics never give us?
'I've got depths' claimed Eugene. 'Many depths. I'm a brocean.'
'Seiji, plainly unable to deal with this situation, looked around for his security idiot, Nicholas.'
...Her face slackened in awe, as though she'd suddenly experienced transcendance. Said transcendance was Aiden...'
