I can certainly tell when the author's writing style is more femme or masc. I preference my MM romance with a femme style. What do I mean by that? I like seeing the build-up between characters through lots of inner dialogs. I like the descriptions are steamier and more seductive. While a masc tone is almost aims for a horrified and off-putting element. I did enjoy this book enough to glance at a few other titles by this author, but I'd most likely save the reading for when I need a certain type of book for a challenge.
