I’ll make this short:
I enjoy love triangles. I did not enjoy this anthology.

This delightful little book is filled with charming stories about Love Triangles. The way the numerous YA authors adapted these stories was a marvel. Particular highlights included Rae Carson's "Omega Ship", Brenna Yovanoff's "Vega" and "Lessons for Beginners" by Julie Murphy. I found myself enjoying not just the creative ways that these authors adapted their themes, but the stories themselves, often wanting more pages that I got.

Wow, I did not expect to dislike this book because usually I am a huge fan of short story collections. I only truly liked, maybe 3 or 4 of the 16 stories and most of them were unmemorable.

This short story collection is supposed to be about love triangles but more than half of them didn't really even have a love triangle in it??

I am filming a solo video review for this and sharing my ratings for each, individual story.
So bummed I didn't enjoy this.

All short story collections inevitably contain a range of quality, but this one really ran the gamut. There were some that definitely stood out to me for good reasons (Murphy, Johnson, Colbert, Gratton) and some that I wondered wtf I just read (Nix, Ahdieh). Several covered ground not normally tread in the genre, which was refreshing. On a side note, her piece in this collection was the first thing I've read by Roth that I honestly enjoyed.

What a fabulous collection of short stories that span, test, and expand the boundaries of genres and the love triangle trope! By the end of each story, I craved more in their world and with their characters. I also was thrilled to see the diversity of representation in race and sexualities in the love triangle trope.
For me and my reading style of late, I felt that I probably should have read this book as a physical copy or an ebook as sometimes the new stories and characters didn't always click immediately.

An interesting anthology, with some amazing stories and others that just fell very flat
