Another solid entry into The Witcher series, really should just be called the Ciri chronicles at this point though. The book plays with the chronology of the story a lot jumping forward and back to tell different portions of the events as seen or experienced by the others in the book. Occasionally the author jumps to the far future and that's a bit jarring since it ruins the flow of the book a bit but overall I enjoyed the presentation of the story. Every major character gets some solid development and side characters do as well. Characters that are mentioned toward the end of the last book now get a major role and development.

2.5 stars but I'm rounding up. I have enjoyed reading the witcher series a lot so far, but this book was kind of a drag for me.

Compared to the other books in the series, this book seemed long and went on far too long in some instances than I thought were necessary. It felt like a lot of filler, and towards the end, I was just waiting for it to be over. I will say though, the final chapter was fantastic and I'm glad I stuck around long enough to see it unfold.

Yennefer my Queen has the least chapters but the most enjoyable and plot important. The last chapter with Ciri and the chase with Rience and Bonhart is one of the best things in this whole series
