I’m back :’) Things got busy, and this book took a good while to read. Nearing the end of this series, I found the pacing to be a little off for this whole book, as the sense of time got pushed around between present, past and future, and the interwoven narrative often felt slightly confused with itself. Nonetheless, I was pleased that Ciris story was strongest for this installation, and found myself enjoying it more than her previous storylines thus far. I was a little sad to see the Witcher Squad (tm) get less page time, as their story was neglected for the later half of the book basically in favour for everyone else. The level of political shenanigans is getting a little much to handle at this stage, and I’m interested to see how everything will be resolved, as the bois thus far have kinda been making it up as they go in terms of lore and overarching story. It’s interesting to see the progression of the different parties searching for Ciri, and I hope to learn more about the Wild Hunt, as well as the alternate magic dimension in the last couple books!

Esta saga se alarga y se alarga como un día sin internet en casa de tus padres. A ver. Me lo paso bien mientras leo. Está bien escrito (y traducido). Es divertido a ratos. Pero echo la vista atrás y digo: para este viaje no era menester alforjas. Para hacer evolucionar a los personajes, enseñarles humildad y que se enfrenten a su destino libres de ataduras no hacen falta tantos volúmenes. Bueno. Me alegro de que ahora sí de verdad de la buena las cosas están como deben estar para la gran conclusión final. Espero.
