Another good installment in the Witcher series.
Moving on from the ending of the last book, which I wasn’t very impressed with, I was happy to see the book took a different turn than I was dreading.
We’re now having three distinct storylines, each following some of our favourite characters. I’d hope to see some convergence near the end, but it seems I’ll have to wait to see the storylines merge together.
Although there were quite some exciting moments, a few decent battles and a fair bit of magic thrown around, I couldn’t help but feel that this is a bit of a filler book.
Looking at the grand scope of things, nothing much changed or happened that was of consequence in the entire book.
So although I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to read the next one, it wasn’t as memorable as some of the others.

The series continues to intrigue, but it does drag on a bit. There is less and less of the Witcher and more of the witches

Things are really heating up now! This book made me feel even worse for Ciri, she’s going through the wringer 😭 I actually loved the style of writing, like they were narrating what happened to them in flashbacks although it got confusing sometimes when the timelines flip back and forth so much. I did enjoy this book though! A bit slower paced than the others which really drags out the fact that things are ending (I hate a rushed ending) and multiple people are going to have an effect on the ending! I low-key enjoy all the political chapters too, it really emphasises that this is an immense world with so many things that matter!
