I received this copy back in February and I feel bad for taking so long to start because ITS SO GOOD! I kind of wanted to drag out reading this series because I knew that I would fall in love with this world, Ryiah and Darren (I mean who wouldn’t?!). This is becoming one of my favourite series and I think in the near future I will be buying myself paperback copies of this series, there’s so much action and I love a good bit of action!
I don’t want to give anything away about this book, but this series is a fantastic take on magic and this book has a love triangle in place however it isn’t one of them annoying triangles, Rachel has done a fantastic job with that bit! Though Ryaih has a lot of emotional feelings and to begin with I thought maybe it could be toned down but however after thinking about it, I’m pretty sure I would’ve been just as emotional during those scenes with Darren! The ending had a fantastic twist once the apprentices had acended and I have to admit I was expecting it to be a happy ending for Ryaih however I wasn’t sure how it was going to happen!
I gave this book a 5/5 stars, so thank you Rachel for giving me a copy of this and for making such an amazing series I can’t wait for the next one! If you enjoy YA, magic, fantasy, adventure, romance and action books this is for you!
