That was a lot of fun to read. I have only recently ventured into the world of Star Wars comics or at least the comics that are part of the canon. Last month I read Shattered Empire found that very enjoyable and the same goes for this Han Solo comic too. It was always good to spend time with Han, Chewie and the Falcon. Also, the writing was fantastic while the art kind of felt like something was lacking. I also love to know more about this Han Solo. He's the rogue we meet at first before his transformation and before the original trilogy and this comic definitely delivered everything I wanted from it.

I mean, I enjoyed it, but the part I really liked I'd already read (Han Solo #1-5)! The second part (Star Wars 2015 #8-12) was good, but I def felt like it was missing something... even for a comic book. The end needed a resolution. But the illustrations were great.

This was an enjoyable read and very quick. If you are a fan of Han Solo and Star Wars you should pick this up. If you are looking for something to advance the story between Episodes IV and V this isn't going to do that for you. This is more side mission its not essential reading but its like icing on the cake. I have been a fan of Marjorie Liu's since I read her X-23 run awhile back. This book is supposed to serve more as a character study in what motivates Han Solo to act that way he does. I liked this book for what it adds to greater lore of the universe not really for the story. I always like seeing new creatures added to the universe U'il Dorae, and Loo Re Anno are great additions. I like U'il because when I first saw her in panel I thought the book was bringing Black Sun which I am still wanting if you know, you know. Dorae might look out of place to some as a creature in the Star Wars Universe but with her standing next to Chewy it just works and remember Jaxxon is an old established character. Loo Re Anno is probably my favorite character of the book I really enjoyed Han Solo's chats with her while they are racing. There are some nice character moments between Leia and Han which might hint at things to come in Episode V in retrospect. The other racers participating the Dragon Void are kind of generic I can't say they're anything special but hey you can't have a Star Wars story without some Twi'leks. Overall if you just want to see more additions to the ever expanding universe this is for you.

I'm really enjoying these smaller Star Wars stories and how they add new little details to the characters we already know and love.

Star Wars graphic novels are never great. They span a range from "awful" to "okay." The Han Solo graphic novel receives highest praise: it's okay. It doesn't add much of substance to Star Wars, but it's free from the terrible "salvation eggs" of Poe Dameron, and it doesn't get in the way of the movie stories like some of the graphic novels do.

The art is fine, the writing is decent. It's not memorable, but it's not embarrassing. There's not much more to say about it.

I love Han Solo so much and his characterisation here was pretty much perfect for the gap between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back: being a good person while pretending he's not, aware that he's lying to himself but not quite ready to stop. This comic might not really be worth five stars, objectively speaking, but I have never pretended to be objective and I am definitely having five stars worth of emotions right now.

The art was well crafted, the story was not. A story that adds nothing to the Star Wars Universe and was riddled with plot holes, nonsensical events and an ex machina or two. Not on par with the other Marvel Star Wars books. Skip this and read Lando instead.

It had its moments, but just not enough of them.
