I could not put this one down, I think I devoured it in less than 2 days. Here Comes the Sun is a story of 3 women, a mother and her two daughters, in Jamaica, living in poverty alongside the wealth of tourism - which is simultaneously their source of income and threatening to destroy them. The book totally immerses you into their lives and although it takes a few chapters to get going as secrets start to be revealed you will find yourself entirely hooked. The descriptions of Jamaica was pretty stunning, but the book is not a light read. As our characters continuously hurt each other, and look back to wonder if it was ever worth it, you’ll be left thinking about them for days after.

Wow. This book took my breath away. It was beautifully written and it explored a lot of the hard choices that people make because of poverty. The consequences and the cycle they create.
