I was able to meet Nia at the TeenBookCon in Houston this past spring, and she's so nice and sweet! It was a pleasure meeting her and I finally got to read her book. This book was a pretty good read. It has an interesting concept, at first it was a bit confusing but many of my questions were answered throughout the book, mind-swapping being the main focus of the book. I liked Megan, LC, and Jade's characters and seeing them develop throughout the novel, even though I felt like some of the story I was either a tiny bit confusing or predictable. Nonetheless I felt like I still enjoyed reading the novel and it was definitely a quick read to help me get out of a reading slump. Even though I was still confused about Tess and a lot of what Cognitec was doing, a sequel going into more depth of what they're trying to do would definitely be interesting. If you love a YA novel with twists and slight thriller elements, you'll love this book!

Such a fun YA Sci-Fi/Thriller. I dig Megan’s character from beginning to end. Normally in YA books, it is clear that the characters need some major developing because they start out with some quite emotionally immature cognitive processes. Megan however was thrown into a wild situation immediately (getting her body snatched and all) and all things considered, she handled it so well! Even when she decided her best course of action to stay afloat was to lean into the life of the person’s body she was in, those friends and family members even acknowledged that she was handling her life in a more “put together” way (compared to how she “used to”…unbeknownst to them, she’s someone else in their loved one’s body). But anywho, yea Megan is solid.

I can’t really go into how I feel about the other characters without spoiling the story, but I will say that there isn’t a ton of character development for anyone besides Megan, which might leave something to be desired. I know it did for me.

The way the book ends, I could see there being space for a sequel in the future. If so, I would be open to reading more if my curiosity about particular characters would be satisfied.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. Very fast and easy read. I consider thrillers to be palette cleansers and this one could definitely fit the bill. I recommend to someone new to thrillers/sci fi, or just getting back into reading in general.

I would give this book 10 stars if I could. This book was different than what I initially thought it would be, but in a good way. I couldn’t put the book down. The plot, character development and everything was amazing! I thought I had people figured out in this book and then I was wrong.

This was a different genre than what I am used to but after reading this book I’m invested in this author. I have to read her other books. This book will make you mad and make you yell at the characters naivety. While reading, I was like “don’t trust her” throughout. I was expecting a different ending but it was still really good. Tess was such a “Karen”. I wouldn’t have trusted that lady period! Sophie was super smart in the book. She knew something was up but just couldn’t quite put her finger on it. I can’t believe LC did Megan like that. You really can’t trust anyone!!!

This was really good! It moved fast, it had lots of twists and turns and it had good characters. I felt very engaged.
