I loved the writing style of this book and I felt like it really pulled me through the story, but the switches in time and perspective felt jarring rather than helpful for context.

i think it’s very beautiful that shakespeare found a way to immortalise their dead son in the only way he knew possible, which has lived on to be one of the most famous plays ever written, therefore keeping the memory of his son alive! stunning prose too

3.5 -- started off really not liking this book (nearly dnf-ed it) but I pushed thru and the second half became the major redeeming factor.
