This is the first book I have read by this author. There was a lot more to it than I expected.

Gideon was unrelenting. At least he was honest about it. I thought it was interesting that Lina had so many men that wanted her, most of them not being too mentally stable as far as I was concerned.

One thing that bothered me was Mr. Psychiatrist and his inability to deal with his own issues. How did he think Lina was supposed to trust him when he couldn't be honest with her?

After getting into the book, I thought the series was going to be about Gideon's brothers. I am going to have to look into that a bit further. As I mentioned before, there was a lot going on in this book, some of the relationships or connections being confusing to me.

I was not expecting the action, danger, mystery, secrets, or intrigue. The romance, the steamy scenes, and the HEA definitely. This was a good 3.5 star read for me.

I didn't realize book 1 was on my TBR list. I will be reading that book as well. My last point is that I would have enjoyed an epilogue that took us further down the path with Gideon and Lina.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book received via Booksprout.

Time to heal a broken heart

That's what this story is about. Lina suffered from too many hurts and did not trust her own instincts to trust her own heart when Gideon decided she was whom he wanted. Gideon suffered from a broken heart and abandonment issues. It took Lina to get him to realize that a family can be more than a birth parent and the acquired family can love just as deeply as a bio family. The plot had me wondering about Lina's stalker. That was a plot I was not expecting. The story started off a little slow but picked up speed towards the end.

It Was Okay

Lina James just wanted someone to want her for more than her body. Gideon Rice just wanted Lina James. To bad their pasts won’t let them be.

To be fair, I’m only reading this series to followup on the characters from the first book. However, I will say that this was probably more dramatic than it needed to be. I will give Siera London that she brought it all together, but Gideon’s personal drama should have been enough for the whole book.

Yet and still, if you like Instalove and Possessive Alphas, this is for you.
